Time for Change You Can Believe In?
January 28, 2008 by Frank Lynch.
Sure, we all want change, true change. That is the pioneering theme first publicized by Democratic Presidential Candidate Frank Lynch in August, 2007, before Obama picked up the theme. Frank used it effectively in the page “Why Frank Decided To Run For President” when he wrote that in August 2007 that no candidate was calling for true change, and that Frank decided to run so the voters could have at least one candidate focused on true change. Read the original page here.
So exactly what is Obama’s “Change You Can Believe In?”
Frank would restructure education with year round school and use our existing high school buildings as colleges teaching useful subjects, giving every child a free, useful college degree by age 16 or 17. All students learn math, medicine, science and engineering beginning at age four, taught by teachers who love these subjects.
Obama thinks free college is his tax credit of $4,000 to every student enrolled in college. He fails to restructure the entire educational system. Our colleges fail to produce students with useful degrees. The most popular degree is women’s issues, followed by social sciences, which is not a science, but which our corrupted Dept. of Education counts in “Science Degrees. With Obama’s approach, we will flush additional billions down the toilet of failed education. Worse, we will produce millions more college graduates with expectations that their college degrees will lift them to a life of entitlement, when in fact a degree in women’s issue greatly reduces the woman’s ability to earn a living and repay her student loans.
But wait, it gets even worse. When federal aid to students increased, our bloated universities used all the new money to become even more bloated and wasteful, which drove up the cost of college. The tidal wave of student loans made it possible for the universities to engorge themselves with even more non-accountable money, and college became even more costly,
Obama’s and Hillary’s tax credits will result in college becoming even more costly, because the more money available to a broken educational system, the more money they will spend.
Our colleges are like any government office, but worse. Because they are smarter than than the average civil servant, colleges are more creative at wasting money and engorging themselves. The rule of operation for all government offices is that, no matter what amount your budget is, you must spend more so that you can claim you are underfunded and need more money next year. If you leave any money unspent, they will say you have too much money and cut your budget.
From preschool to high school to college, throwing more money in the toilet results in no improvement whatsoever.
Our educational system is so broken that it must be completely destroyed and re-invented.
Neither Obama nor Hillary has the spine to do this because of the power of the teachers union which supports them both.
So Obama’s Change You Can Believe In really means only that he will change the budget by throwing more money down the toilet without changing the results or truly helping our children.
And you can believe in that.
http://www.franklynch.org is the only candidate that actually has a plan to change our broken institutions. Everybody else only promises change but fails to post a serious, detailed plan.
